Weighing in at a very healthy 7 pounds and 8 ounces, young Emily Luna Reyes was born at 1:37 a.m. on Jan. 1 at St. Mary Medical Center.

“We are so excited to welcome baby Emily into our family, especially on the first day of the New Year,” Emily’s mother, Zitlalic Lopez Gutierrez, said in a news release sent by St. Mary Medical Center. “The care we received at St. Mary was excellent and we could not be happier with the entire experience.”

Emily and her mother are healthy and doing well, according to the hospital, and the family is ecstatic over their “bundle of joy being so new to the world.”
