Weighing in at a very healthy 7 pounds and 8 ounces, young Emily Luna Reyes was born at 1:37 a.m. on Jan. 1 at St. Mary Medical Center.
“We are so excited to welcome baby Emily into our family, especially on the first day of the New Year,” Emily’s mother, Zitlalic Lopez Gutierrez, said in a news release sent by St. Mary Medical Center. “The care we received at St. Mary was excellent and we could not be happier with the entire experience.”
Emily and her mother are healthy and doing well, according to the hospital, and the family is ecstatic over their “bundle of joy being so new to the world.”
“It’s always such an incredible moment when the first baby of the year is born here at St. Mary,” said Carolyn Caldwell, St. Mary president and CEO. “It represents a bright start to the new year, as well as reflects the remarkable commitment of our entire clinical team to help mothers like Zitlalic welcome home their newborn.”
