lavell familyA candlelight tribute will be held Wednesday for a Long Beach man and his two young children killed in a car crash Saturday morning in Artesia.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30PM on Wednesday, July 13 at No Limits Sports and Fitness Academy, located at 3221 Industry Drive in Signal Hill, where 33-year-old Lavell Mann worked as a trainer.

Mann and his nine-month-old boy Legend and three-year-old daughter Logan were killed when he rear-ended a gas tanker in his Jeep, leading to a three-vehicle crash on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway at about 1:00AM Saturday.

“It’s very heartbreaking, very sad and my heart goes out to his wife and his family,” said the gym’s owner Alisha Lopez in a video posted to Facebook on Saturday. “It’s just hard to grasp and understand that we will never see him again at the gym. It just makes you realize just how precious life is.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral arrangements. So far, just over $37,000 of $60,000 has been raised.
