A dream originating in the homes of passionate dancers, folk dance group Orgullo Mexicano will celebrate its one year anniversary today.

In the past year, Orgullo Mexicano has grown from 15 to 42 members aged 4 and up, holding regular practices at the homes of members and now at a permanent dance hall.  Today, the group has presented their displays around the area and even traveled to The Dance Festival in Las Vegas, bringing home three recognitions.

The group carries proudly the name representing our Mexican culture,” said group member Rebecca Zavaleta.  “The definition of pride is carried out in our dance, our wardrobe and in our complete presentation.  A dream does not become reality without sweat, work and great effort.”

After great growth in just one year’s time, Zavaleta and the rest of Orgullo Mexicano look forward to a second year of displaying their pride and culture.  You can find more information here.
