A woman who was hospitalized Saturday after crashing her motorcycle in a parking garage in Bixby Knolls has died, police announced Tuesday afternoon.

Police say officers were notified of the crash in the 1200 block of East San Antonio Drive sometime around 10:55 a.m.

When officers arrived, they located the motorcyclist unconscious and suffering from serious injuries in a private underground parking garage, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

According to the LBPD, the motorcyclist was inside the garage on a three-wheeled Can-Am Ryker when she accelerated the vehicle and lost control before crashing head-on into a wall. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

At the garage, Long Beach Fire Department personnel administered aid to the motorcyclist and then transported her to a local hospital for further treatment, authorities said.

On Tuesday, authorities were notified that the motorcyclist had died as a result of her injuries, police said. She was only identified by police as a 32-year-old Long Beach resident, as the Los Angeles County coroner’s office works to notify the next of kin, authorities said.
