The LA County Department of Coroner has released partial identifying information about the motorcyclist who fatally collided with a pole yesterday.
The autopsy was pending and full identification will be released after the man’s next of kin have been notified, said coroner Chief Ed Winter. However, the deceased has been described as a Japanese man in his 40s.
A preliminary investigation found that the motorcyclist made an unsafe turning movement for unknown reasons and collided with a raised curb, causing him to be ejected, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials.
The man then collided with a pole, and he and the motorcycle came to a rest on the right shoulder of the Southbound 405 Freeway. He suffered fatal injuries from the collision.
Further details about the case have not yet been released. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
