A motorcyclist escaped serious injury Wednesday morning when the unidentified rider collided with a vehicle near Long Beach’s Rose Park neighborhood, authorities said.
Police responded to the crash at 6:55AM on Wednesday, January 27, near Seventh Street and Redondo Avenue, said Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Brad Johnson.
According to an investigation, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Seventh Street when the rider proceeded to pass the Redondo Avenue intersection on a yellow light. The rider then collided with the motorist who was westbound on Seventh Street and attempted to turn left on Redondo Avenue.
The motorcyclist was transported by paramedics to a local hospital in stable condition, Johnson said. The extent of the injuries was not known but the rider was expected to be treated and released the same day.
