A motorcycle rider was killed this morning in a crash involving two other vehicles, including one that was left overturned on the northbound 605 Freeway in Norwalk.

The crash was reported just north of Alondra Boulevard at 5:05 a.m. and the wreckage from the collision was blocking the carpool lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses told the CHP a motorcyclist hit a vehicle at a high speed, causing the vehicle to overturn. The body of the motorcyclist ended up lodged in the wreckage of the overturned vehicle.

The crash prompted the closure of the carpool and Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes of the northbound 605 Freeway until further notice. The No. 5 lane of the freeway remained open, the CHP said.

The name of the victim was not disclosed.
