A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital after a crash at Redondo Avenue and E. 15th Street around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to authorities.

When police arrived a the scene, they found a motorcyclist down with life-threatening injuries, and he was transferred to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, and no other injuries have been confirmed, said Richard Mejia, a spokesperson from the LBPD.

Police shut down Redondo Avenue in both directions while they investigated.

“This is a very dangerous intersection,” said Hugo Ortega, a Long Beach resident who has lived nearby for the past 30 years and has observed frequent crashes in the area. “I’m sick of this. Every time I hear something happens, I just pray no one died.”

No other information will be available until after investigators complete their primary investigation, said Mejia.
