Six local high schools were named to Newsweek magazine’s list of America’s Top High Schools this morning, meaning that more than 60% of local high schools were ranked among the nation’s top 6-percent according to an LBUSD press release. Five of the schools had been named to the list in previous years, while Lakewood High made its first-ever appearance. The rankings of the six local high schools are as follows:
#357 – California Academy of Mathematics and Science
#741 – Wilson Classical High School
#840 – Polytechnic High School
#1098 – Avalon High School
#1251 – Millikan High School
#1382 – Lakewood High School
