There were no injuries reported in a fire that fully engulfed a detached garage in East Long Beach on Friday afternoon, officials said.

The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) received a call about the fire in the 2700 block of Josie Avenue at about 1:36PM, said LBFD spokesman Brian Fisk.

He said when the first units arrived, they found the fire to be “fully involved,” meaning it had engulfed the entire structure.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze by 1:52PM, Fisk said. There were no injuries, but there was major damage to the structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Fisk said. No further details are available at this time.
