This past Saturday night, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) responded to a shooting outside a residence near Bixby Knolls in north Long Beach, in which one of two victims succumbed to their wounds.
Upon arriving to the 200 block of East Pleasant Street near Del Amo Blvd., officers discovered two males who had both shot in the upper torso. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one succumbed to his injuries.
Miguel Alvarez, a resident of Long Beach, was 18-years-old at the time of his death. The other victim, who has survived, has been unnamed as of this report. A preliminary investigation indicated that the to victims were standing in front of a residence when they were shot at multiple times. There is no suspect information and a motive has not yet been determined.
