One person was wounded following two separate early morning shootings Thursday, according to authorities.

At 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Fifth Street and Maine Avenue near Downtown where they found a 35-year-old man who had been shot in the upper body, LBPD spokeswoman Allison Gallagher said. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Officers were unable to locate the crime scene, and suspect information and motive are unknown, Gallagher said.

Officers later responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Broadway and Orange Avenue in Alamitos Beach at 3:04 a.m., Gallagher said. A 28-year-old man told police he was involved in a dispute with a woman. The dispute escalated and another woman became involved, drew a gun, fired at the man and missed, according to Gallagher.

The woman who fired the gun fled the scene in a sedan prior to officers’ arrival, Gallagher said. Police later arrested 47-year-old Keishon Bradford, a Long Beach resident, on suspicion of attempted murder and criminal threats, Gallagher said. Bail is set at $1 million.
