A multi-vehicle non-injury collision in the Long Beach (710) Freeway Monday night shut down two southbound lanes for nearly four hours, until early Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The collision, between two big rigs and two cars, happened at about 10:35PM on the southbound 710 Freeway at Willow Street on Monday, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

The force of the collision sent one of the big rigs off the freeway and down the embankment, and the other truck jackknifed, according to Villalobos.

No injuries were reported and no fuel spilled at the scene, but the crash caused an hours-long traffic jam on the southbound 710 Freeway. The No. 2 and 3 lanes were shut down and a SigAlert was declared at 11:10PM Monday, he said.

The road was eventually cleared and the SigAlert cancelled at 2:20AM, according to the CHP.
