A female pedestrian is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle Monday morning, police said.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesperson Nancy Pratt said the collision occurred at about 7:15AM at Pacific Coast Highway and Temple Avenue.

The vehicle, a silver Toyota 4-Runner, was traveling eastbound on PCH when it struck a female pedestrian who was crossing PCH at Temple Avenue.

The 4-Runner then struck a dark grey Toyota Scion traveling northbound on Temple Avenue.

The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Both vehicles remained at the scene.
