Police say they are investigating a hit-and-run crash along Anaheim Street and Cedar Avenue that left a pedestrian injured Tuesday night.

The crash happened sometime around 10:44 p.m. At the scene, officers located a man laying on the ground and suffering from injuries to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police couldn’t provide further information on how the crash happened, however, LBPD spokesperson Brandon Fahey said the preliminary investigation suggests that the man was struck by the driver of an unknown vehicle, who failed to stop after the fact and fled the scene. No further suspect information was available.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel also responded to the scene and transported the man to a local hospital where is in stable condition, authorities said.
