Long Beach is the latest city in the U.S. and across the globe to show solidarity with Ukraine after the country was invaded by Russia.

Several buildings across the city will be illuminated with blue and yellow lights, the colors of the European country’s flag.

“Our community is united by the values of peace, democracy and self-determination,” Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said in a statement. “Long Beach stands firmly with the international community in support of Ukraine’s defense of their country and heritage.”

The full list of landmarks that will be lit up include:

  • Long Beach Civic Center (City Hall and Port of Long Beach Building)
  • Long Beach International Gateway Bridge
  • Long Beach Airport
  • Long Beach Sign at 710 Exit to Shoreline Drive
  • Rainbow Harbor Lighthouse
  • Long Beach Terrace Theater

The invasion began on Thursday, with Russian forces now appearing to prepare for a possible escalation of war on Ukraine. Russian forces moved through the country’s second largest city, Kharkiv, on Monday, pursuing efforts to seize the capital, Kyiv. Half a million people have fled the country as the situation has intensified.
