A man who allegedly threatened to shoot his coworkers at a Long Beach pharmacy was arrested earlier this week after a warrant was served and officers searched his home, seizing numerous guns, police said Thursday.

Aiken Bui, a 35-year-old Seal Beach resident, allegedly threatened to shoot his coworkers at 3500 E. Broadway, police say. That address is the location of Benzer Pharmacy in the Belmont Heights neighborhood.

Staff at the pharmacy declined to comment on the incident.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the initial report was made on Saturday, Jan. 7, when a coworker of Bui’s told police that he brought guns to work on Wednesday, Jan. 4, and threatened to shoot them. The coworker also told police that Bui regularly carried a gun with him, police said.

Detectives found that Bui had access to multiple registered firearms and subsequently issued a warrant for his arrest, secured a search warrant for his Seal Beach residence and obtained a Gun Violence Emergency Protective Order, which restrained him from the guns.

Bui was arrested on Monday after he was spotted by LBPD officers driving near his workplace around 5:20 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Bui. Then, an LBPD Swat team searched his home and seized six firearms, including several illegal assault weapons, police said.

Bui was booked on one count of threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and one count of possession of an assault weapon. His bail is set at $100,000.
