A man was found dead in an alley in the area of Walnut Avenue and Seventh Street on Wednesday morning, police said.
Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers were flagged down in the area while on patrol to check the well-being of a person lying on the sidewalk at about 8:15AM, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive man with no obvious signs of trauma.
Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel responded to the scene and determined the man was deceased, Arrona said.
The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner also responded to recover the body and conduct an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is currently available. We will update this story as we learn more.
