Burglary detectives are asking for help in identifying two people suspected of multiple grand thefts in Long Beach, surrounding cities and across the country.

The suspects, described as a man and woman between the ages of 45 and 50, are suspected of stealing merchandise from Utla Beauty stores at the Long Beach Exchange and the Long Beach Towne Center, police said.

A security camera video shows the couple walking down an aisle and the woman reaching for an item on a shelf while the man turns his body in an attempt to block her hands from view. It appears she is putting several items inside her long dress.

Police said in a release that the suspects walked into the Ulta Beauty store at Long Beach Exchange at about 4 p.m. on May 31 and stole multiple items including hair appliances and miscellaneous cosmetics. Nearly two hours later, at about 5:45 p.m., they entered another Ulta Beauty store at the Long Beach Towne Center and stole similar items, police said.

“In both instances, the suspects were then seen exiting the store without paying for the concealed items,” police said.

The suspects drive a newer-model black Cadillac Escalade, according to police.

“The female suspect is known to several other store locations in Los Angeles County and Orange County and has previously stolen items and concealed them under her clothing,” police said.

Anyone with information on these incidents are asked to contact Burglary Detective Daniel Martinez at 562-570-7392.
