Two separate shootings occurred Friday night and early Saturday in Long Beach, according to police. There were no fatalities, police said.

The first took place Friday night around 9:50 p.m. on Webster Avenue and Canton Street on the Westside. Officers were sent to a call about shots being fired.

Police found a man with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police said they found bullet casings and bullet strike marks on nearby vehicles. The motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

On Thursday, a shooting also took place near Webster Avenue and Canton Street.

A separate shooting occurred Saturday morning around midnight on Pacific Coast Highway and Pacific Avenue.

Police said officers in the area heard what they believed to be gunshots and began investigating the area.

They found evidence of a shooting and strike marks to a nearby business, according to authorities. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
