At the voting center at Cesar E. Chavez Park, around 30 people had voted as of 11 a.m.
Royce Bell, who has been volunteering at the polls for 10 years, said the turnout was standard for a primary election.
“Presidential elections usually bring out more people; I see lines out the door until well after we close,” said Bell.

There was no shortage of furry friends though. One voter, Valencia Block, brought her dog Isis with her to cast her ballot.
“We need to put people in office who will set things straight. We need to put an end to gun violence and … this is the way to do it,” said Block.

Polls are open until 8 p.m. Here’s everything else you need to know to vote.
