Anyone in Los Angeles County looking to cast their vote in person for the upcoming June 7 primary elections can do so starting today with the opening of voting centers across the county, including six in Long Beach.

The California Voter’s Choice Act requires LA County to provide one vote center for every 50,000 registered voters starting 10 days before Election Day. One voting center, however, is required for every 10,000 voters at least four days before the election, meaning dozens more voting polls will open Saturday, June 4.

The voting centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Election Day, when they will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to city officials.

The following locations will act as voting centers as of Saturday, May 28:

  • Houghton Park Community Center Social Hall
    • 6301 Myrtle Ave.
  • Long Beach City College Multi-Purpose Room (T1200)
    • 4901 E. Carson St.
  • The Salvation Army Long Beach Temple Corps
    • 3090 Long Beach Blvd.
  • Long Beach City College Pacific Coast Campus (Room GG238)
    • 1305 E. Pacific Coast Highway
  • Long Beach Senior Center Auditorium
    • 1150 E. 4th St.
  • International City Masonic Center Hall
    • 5155 E. Pacific Coast Highway

Earlier this month, 17 drop boxes were also established around the city to allow for a safe and accessible option for voters to return their ballots at any time of day. All mail-in ballots must be postmarked by June 7 for them to be counted.

Long Beach Transit, along with its paratransit service for those with permanent mobility impairments, will also be offering free bus rides all day on June 7 in an effort to encourage voters to go to the polls.
