Second District City Council candidate Jeannine Pearce announced the endorsement of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor today in her campaign for city government.

According to a release from Pearce’s office, the LA County Federation of Labor is made up of over 300 local unions representing over 600,000 union workers.

“We take our endorsement seriously. After interviewing candidates in the race our choice was clear,” said Rusty Hicks, the executive secretary-treasurer of the LA County Federation of Labor in a statement. “Jeannine Pearce is the candidate we trust to lead District 2 and Long Beach forward. Jeannine has our trust, respect and endorsement because of what she’s proven she can do—standup for working families, deliver higher wages, fight for affordable housing, and deliver safer, cleaner neighborhoods.”

“Earning the endorsement of the LA County Federation of Labor illustrates the strong campaign we’re building,” said Pearce. “The LA Federation represents thousands of hard working Long Beach families. They are a powerful voice fighting to raise wages for working families and ensure the American dream is still possible for every worker.”

Other prominent endorsements for Pearce include those of Congresswoman Janice Hahn, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal and councilmembers Rex Richardson and Roberto Uranga.
