Long Beach Pride kicks-off this weekend with over 100,000 visitors expected to descend into Long Beach from all over the world. Pride is in its 25th year and will take over the Downtown Marina and Ocean blvd this weekend with a two-day festival and Sunday parade.
However, the fun begins this Friday Night at the first annual PINK PARTY at Smooth’s Sports Grille. Congresswoman Laura Richardson, Mayor Bob Foster, Assemblymember Warren Furutani and members of the City Council are attending the fundraiser that will raise funds for youth programs at the Long Beach Gay & Lesbian center.
The PINK PARTY will feature food, dancing and music by DJ Mark Bisson and raffle opportunities including hotel stays at various K Hotels locations and a pair of roundtrip tickets on JetBlue to anywhere the airline flies.
The event starts at 6:30PM and tickets will be sold at the door for $20, which includes admission and complimentary hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Smooth’s. All proceeds will directly benefit the Center. Smooth’s Sports Grille is located at 144 Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach.
The event is being hosted by Steve Sheldon, Sergio Carrillo, Miles Nevin, Jose Solache and yours truly. We already have over 175 people that have RSVD’d for the event and expect over 200 guests.
All guests are being asked to wear Pink!
