Long Beach is expected to continue receiving light rain Friday and into the weekend, with the most rain expected on Saturday with a chance of thunder, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
According to the NWS, there’s about a 75 percent to 80 percent chance of precipitation Saturday, with a quarter-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain. Showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms are expected in the morning and afternoon with the highest temperatures in the lower-to-mid 60s.
Lighter rain is expected on Sunday, and precipitation could linger into Monday in mountain areas.
There’s a potentially bigger storm on the horizon that could arrive by late next week, according to NWS officials.
