The Ralphs market sitting at the triangle Bellflower/7th/PCH will close its door on November 8 after holding its 5760 E 7th St. address for four decades.

“We never want to close stores and when we consider it, it is a decision that is not taken lightly,” said Kendra Doyel, spokesperson for Ralphs. “But the blunt reality is that the store was underperforming and has been underperforming for quite some time.”

Vacating also makes logistical sense: there is another Ralphs down on PCH less than a mile away and another Ralphs in Bluff Heights at 4th & Obispo.

This location, opening in 1974, was remodeled in 2007 under the market chain’s “Fresh Fare” campaign, offering customers more local and organic options, on-site prepared food, and a complete re-design of the inside space in the hopes to attract a more heavy-spending crowd.

As for employees at the Iron Triangle location, Doyel assured the Post that “none of the employees at that location will be laid off and all are guaranteed positions at other Ralphs locations.”

The only question left is: what will replace it?
