Police pursued a driver in a stolen car from Santa Ana to Long Beach, where he crashed in Belmont Shore, officials said.
The pursuit started in Santa Ana when a victim saw their car had been stolen and flagged down Santa Ana police officers. The officers started pursuing the suspect who refused to pull over, Cpl. Anthony Britagna said.
Once the suspect left the Santa Ana area, the pursuit was handed to California Highway Patrol officers who followed the driver to Long Beach, Britagna said. The suspect then crashed into several parked cars near First Street and Livingston Drive, officials said.
The car was left running and police officers and firefighters had trouble getting it to turn off.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a fire department spokesman said. Santa Ana police officers were on their way to the hospital to arrest the suspect once he is discharged, Britagna said.
