A big rig truck driver crashed into a dozen parked vehicles in Long Beach’s West Side area when the motorist allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel on Thursday, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 3300 block of Santa Fe Avenue on Thursday, June 30 at about 1:00AM, regarding a possible injury traffic collision involving a big rig truck, said Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

Police believe a semi-truck was traveling south on Santa Fe Avenue when the driver apparently fell asleep and collided with 12 unoccupied parked vehicles, Arrona said.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing.
