Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a two-year-old girl in an unincorporated area of Long Beach, LASD officials announced early Thursday morning.

Nicole Larsen died at about 12:45AM after being found “unresponsive” at a residence on the 2500 block of East Jackson Street at 11:55PM on Wednesday, April 27, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. An autopsy is pending, he added.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead,” officials stated.

Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

The residence is located within an unincorporated area of Long Beach that is patrolled by the sheriff’s Carson Station.
