Shooting One Block North of Poly High, No Students Involved

A shooting occurred one block north of Poly High this afternoon, resulting in one wounded victim.

At around 4:20PM, Long Beach Police officers were dispatched to the area surrounding Esther Street and Atlantic Avenue where they discovered a victim shot in the torso. The victim–unidentified on any level at this point besides the fact that the victim was not a student–was then transfered to a hospital in what was last reported as serious condition.

Atlantic Avenue between Pacific Coast Highway are closed for the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing.
