Man shot in parking lot outside of Lakewood mall bowling alley, LASD says

A man was shot in a parking lot outside of the bowling, arcade and amusement complex Round 1 at the Lakewood Center overnight, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Watch Commander Sgt. Robert Martinez said.

Officers responded to the business at 401 Lakewood Blvd. at close to 1 a.m., Martinez said, and found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. It’s unclear how many shooters were involved, but “multiple shots” were fired, he said.

“Multiple vehicles were seen leaving the area after the shooting,” Martinez said.

Paramedics then transported the victim to a local hospital, Martinez said. The Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department were not aware of the victim’s condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Details leading up to the shooting were not immediately available as detectives are currently investigating the shooting, Martinez said, including reviewing security footage.

Additional suspect information is not yet available, Martinez said. No other injuries were reported.
