The Long Beach Junior Chamber held their annual Children’s Shopping Spree on Saturday, drawing more than 100 volunteers to help about 80 children find needed clothes to begin the new school year.  Children were given an empty shopping cart and $90 to spend in Wal-Mart on 5th Street.

The day also included many other activities, free to the children.  Hometown Buffet supplied a hearty breakfast to get the kids off on the right foot, before some creative hair coloring and face painting by volunteers and style students.  A local hair stylist snipped and shaped the children’s hair, and off they went to fill up their shopping carts.
