JANUARY 19 4:08PM  |  Coroners officials have confirmed Jonathan Lee Lolley was the third victim who died in a Long Beach apartment last week possibly due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Jamie Ballantyne, 34, of Long Beach, along with Albert Salazar, 51, of San Pedro and Jonathan Lee Lolley, 36, of Daytona Beach, Florida were found in a state of decomposition at about 7:00PM on Monday, January 12. Police were conducting a welfare check on the people living in the apartment on the 1100 block of Gardenia Avenue, in response to a report of a “foul odor emitting from one of the units.”

Autopsies of the three victims have yet to be performed.

JANUARY 16  |  The unidentified third victim who was found dead in a Long Beach apartment earlier this week due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning may have been identified by an acquaintance.

The man, previously only identified by victim Jamie Ballantyne’s sister Crystal Ballantyne as “Jay,” was identified earlier today by an acquaintance and Jamie Ballantyne’s ex-boyfriend, Mondo Robert, as one Jonathan Lolley.

An internet search of the name led the Post to a mugshot of a man named Jonathan Lolley from Daytona Beach, Florida bearing a strong resemblance to the man in the photo provided earlier by Crystal Ballantyne [below]. In addition to similar facial features, a small tattoo on the left side of the neck of the subject of both photos appears to match.

Neither the coroner nor the police have confirmed the man’s identity.

The sister of Jamie Ballantyne, one of three people found dead in a Long Beach apartment due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning earlier this week, is asking the public for information about her sister’s boyfriend, who she believes is the third, as of yet unidentified man who died in the incident.

Jamie Ballantyne’s sister Crystal Ballantyne believes the man, who she could only identify as “Jay,” died in the incident, though his identity has not yet been confirmed by coroners or police.

Crystal Ballantyne said the only thing she knew about Jay was that he had family in Florida and he was living in California while dating Jamie Ballantyne. The car that Jay had been driving was found outside the apartment where the three victims were discovered dead on Monday, Crystal Ballantyne said, and the car had collected tickets as if it had not been moved in several days or weeks.

“It’s only right that he’s identified,” Crystal Ballantyne told the Long Beach Post. “I feel terrible that he’s not getting identified. Nobody needs that. It’s just not right. Our hearts are hurting for him. All of this is just coming from pure concern for him to where I’m doing all I can for his family to have that right to know to put him to rest.”

Coroners and police could not immediately identify whether or not the man pictured and identified by Crystal Ballantyne was actually the unidentified victim in the case.

Jamie Ballantyne, 34, of Long Beach, along with Albert Salazar, 51, of San Pedro and the third, unidentified victim were found in a state of decomposition at about 7:00PM Monday when police were conducting a welfare check on the people living in the apartment on the 1100 block of Gardenia Avenue, said Los Angeles County Coroner’s Chief Craig Harvey.

Autopsies to determine the exact cause of their deaths are pending, but authorities believe the three victims were poisoned by carbon monoxide as a result of using a propane heater meant for outdoor use inside the apartment.
