Six people were arrested Tuesday in a DUI saturation patrol, police said Wednesday.
The Long Beach Police Department’s (LBPD) Traffic Section conducted the patrol on St. Patrick’s Day from 7:00PM to 3:00AM. Officers patrolled throughout the city looking for impaired drivers.
During the operation, police conducted 64 enforcement stops, conducted 14 standardized field sobriety tests, made five DUI arrests, made one warrant arrest for vandalism, issued two citations to drivers who were unlicensed, impounded one vehicle for a suspended license driver and issued nine traffic citations for unsafe driving.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
