The nation’s largest solar event will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center when the 2007 Solar Power Conference and Expo kicks off on Tuesday.  Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster will deliver the keynote speech at 8:30 a.m. in the main ballroom.

The event is held by the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), and will be principally sponsored by Southern California Edison (SCE).

”Solar power is an important renewable resource for our customers,” said Gene Rodrigues, SCE’s director of Energy Efficiency programs. “We applaud the Solar Power Conference and Expo for providing opportunities for businesses, utilities and consumers to share information on one of the most exciting clean-energy technologies of our time.”

Certain seminars will be free for the public to attend, and information about registration can be found at the Solar Power Conference 2007 website.
