The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine will offer free meals to Long Beach children from June 21 until Aug. 27.

Meals will be provided from Monday through Friday, with varying times for each site between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., excluding July 5.

The food will be distributed through a “Grab n Go” service, with meals consisting of nutritious options and cold items such as milk, juice, fruit and vegetables.

This year, the program will operate at more than 30 locations throughout Long Beach. Visit the PRM website to view a complete list of locations where meals will be provided or call the Summer Food Office, 562-570-3226 for more information.

The Summer Food Service Program began in Long Beach in 1979, and has provided more than two million meals since then, to ensure that children have access to well-balanced meals while on summer break.
