To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Long Beach’s own Surfing and Paddleboard Championship that was once one of Southern California’s premier surfing events, the Long Beach Chapter of the Surfrider foundation will hold a Breakwater Bash celebration and fundraiser Saturday night at Smooth’s Sports Grille, 144 Pine Ave.
The 1938 Surfing and Paddleboard Championship was the first surfing national championship ever.
All proceeds will benefit the Surfrider Foundation and their “Sink The Breakwater Restore The Shore Campaign.” The event will begin at 7:00pm and run until midnight and feature live music. Admission is $10.
