Long Beach’s own Aquarium of the Pacific is taking note of the state’s water troubles and this week introduced its largest expansion since 2002, an exhibit dedicated to sustainability and providing information about how to live for the future.  The plans include an interactive classroom with a green roof, and five displays on local watersheds.  The classroom is expected to be the first in Long Beach to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design platinum-certicification, thehighest green building rating.

Diana Lejins attended the Aquarium’s opening event on Wednesday and brings us these photos from the day.
