A man who had barricaded himself inside a hotel room has been taken into custody after the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD)’s SWAT team was activated to alleviate the situation.

B1eI7zdCcAApWEiAccording to LBPD spokesperson Bradley Johnson, officers were dispatched at 10:40AM today to the 600 block of West Pacific Coast Highway on a 927 call, or what is otherwise known as an unknown trouble call, with the subject possibly carrying a weapon.

“Upon arrival officers made contact with a subject and that subject barricaded himself in his hotel room,” Johnson said. “As a result of the barricade situation SWAT was activated.”

Approximately four hours later, the subject was taken into custody by SWAT officers, and is being held on a no bail warrant.

The investigation remains ongoing.
