“I’m not second-guessing myself,” Gonzalez said. “I know I’m the right person for this position and I think other people’s egos or their staunch negativity for a woman like myself to be in this space I think is just smoke and mirrors to the reality.”
Using the knowledge he’s learned over the years, Jack Guerrero, the Republican candidate in the 33rd state Senate District race, believes he can take on the state.

The much anticipated event drew an estimated 100 people who filled the Wrigley community center, with many showing their support or disapproval of the candidates throughout the two-hour event with loud claps and hollers.
A forum is far from a debate; it’s a reading from candidates’ own campaign mailers, and it does little to improve the democratic process.
The Wrigley Neighborhood Association will be hosting the forum at Veterans Park on May 6.
