On Sunday, Corona said he and local partners and sponsors gave out bags and boxes of items including food, diapers, snacks and, of course, toys to 360 families, including 900 children in those families.
Eighth District Councilmember Al Austin II is teaming up with eighth-grader Miranda Luzanilla, a Hughes Green Team member, to help facilitate water conservation by hosting a rain barrel sale and free rainwater harvesting class, increasing ways to use the water bestowed upon the city by nature and decreasing its reliance on the limited SoCal water supply.
Residents of the Eighth District of Long Beach can look forward to a weekend of getting ready for school—with the help of Councilmember Al Austin and various community organizations, including the Long Beach Airport and the Port of Long Beach, among others.
