County leaders give fire, sheriff’s department 45 days to report on training for new privacy policies

The vote comes after a jury ordered the county to pay Vanessa Bryant and Chris Chester $35 million for failing to prevent personnel from taking and sharing of photos of their deceased loved ones at the site of the 2020 helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant.

LA County supervisors advance ballot measure that would let them remove sheriff

If voters approve it in November, the ballot measure would give the board the power to remove a sheriff “for cause” on a four-fifths vote of the five-member panel.

$10,000 Reward Offered for Information in 2012 Drive-By Murder

Following the murder of 23-year-old Jose Luis Cruz Jr. on November 9 of last year, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the unknown murderer.
