Metro Announces Safety Improvements for Blue Line Commuters, Including Gates, Fencing and Signage

Metro officials yesterday unveiled safety improvements completed, or in the process of being completed, at 27 intersections along the Blue Line—the nation’s busiest rail line, with over 80,000 daily boardings, and the county’s oldest at 25 years old.

Metro Blue Line Service Halted Due to Suspicious Activity

Service on the Metro Blue Line was halted late Wednesday evening due to reports of a man acting suspiciously near the Willow Street Station. The halt in service was originally reported around 9:18 PM but a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said service should be back to normal shortly.

Long Beach Wardlow Station Receives Worst Grade in LA County from Statewide Transportation Study

A study released Monday by the nonprofit Next 10 and prepared by the Center for Law, Energy and the Environment at the UC Berkeley School of Law gave the Los Angeles County Metro’s Wardlow Station an F, the worst grade for a station within the LA County Metro transit system.

Two Metro Blue Line Riders Hospitalized, Motorist Unharmed After Train Collides with Sedan

Two Metro Blue Line train riders were transported to the hospital after a woman driving a brown sedan collided with the train at 12:36PM today when she tried to execute a left turn on a Long Beach street, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department deputies on the scene said.
