Now we’re going to go out with a bang. Minecrafter RobThePiMaster built a Grand Prix race track in our server out of ice and we’re going to race boats on it!
We started virtual Office Hours as a way to connect with you, our readers, and build something together while we’re all stuck inside because of the coronavirus pandemic.
We couldn’t screenshot the entire city, but we will be showing a live tour of all the coolest builds today (and every Thursday) at 3:30 p.m. on YouTube and Twitch.
This is for everyone: Kids who are already Minecraft masters? This is for you. Millennials who miss the simplicity of a classic game? Walk down memory lane with us. Parents who need a break at a virtual restaurant? Help us build that restaurant (don’t worry, it’s easy to learn).
This weekend, talk to breaking news reporter Valerie Osier or diversity and immigration reporter Stephanie Rivera at a Long Beach library in Downtown or North Long Beach.
So come on out, chat with us about your communities, crime, local art, city politics, the latest on the Queen Mary and the Broadway Corridor, or whatever you want to talk to us about—let’s have real conversations.
We had the opportunity to have real conversations with each person that came—and that’s what we want.
We want to have a conversation with you. Yes you, reading this right now, you. We want to talk to you and see your face and hear your thoughts and answer your questions and hear your ideas. Like back before the internet.
