A police pursuit in the Downtown Long Beach area Monday night ended with the vehicle crashing into a parking structure, police said.
A pursuit Wednesday morning that began in Alamitos Beach and ended in Signal Hill led to the arrest of a 36-year-old Long Beach man who police said stole a vehicle and was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The injured man, who was standing outside his vehicle when the shooting began Monday at South Street and Lime Avenue, was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
Multiple suspects ran into the store where they were apprehended by police.
The driver got out of the SUV in an alley near Eighth Street and Atlantic Avenue and appeared to run through an apartment complex.
A nearly 90-minute pursuit of a stolen U-Haul moving truck that began in Orange County ended when the vehicle came to rest in a park in Long Beach and the driver and a passenger were taken into custody.
At one point, the driver exited the 405 Freeway and let a passenger out of the car. She warned there was a weapon in the vehicle after deputies took her into custody, according to the sheriff’s officials.
The two men bailed out at Downey Avenue and Harding Street in Long Beach and officers tracked them to a house.
