Man who followed women in Bluff Heights sentenced to jail for indecent exposure

Police arrested 42-year-old Hery Martinez-Paredez, at his home in Long Beach on suspicion of indecent exposure. He is being held in the Long Beach jail on a $200,000 bail.
The reports called into police and posted on social media are all similar: a Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s follows women who are sometimes walking with their dogs or their children
Until recently, there wasn’t much police could do about the man because, technically, following someone isn’t a crime, the LBPD said.
Moviegoers self-evacuated after the suspicious man, who was wearing a backpack, walked in front of the theater and surveyed the crowd, authorities said.
Police were called to the parking lot on the 4000 block of East Olympic Plaza, near the Belmont Plaza Pool, about a suspicious person at 7:35 a.m.
