Two Long Beach organizations are joining forces this weekend for an event that will benefit children experiencing homelessness. Taste of the Coast, part of the Long Beach Sea Festival, takes place Sunday, August 3rd, from 3-7pm on the Belmont Veteran’s Memorial Pier.

Guests and passersby will be able to sample food and drinks from over 30 local restaurants, all proceeds going directly to programs offered by Children Today, a local organization providing early childhood education to the local homeless population.

Taste of the Coast is being spearheaded by the Long Beach Kids Connection, another local organization concerned with poverty among youth and the need to address it in Long Beach. Children Today will receive proceeds in order to support child care  and preschool programs at two facilities in Long Beach, the Play House West and Play House North.

Tickets are still available for Taste of the Coast. Please visit www.childrentoday.org or call Children Today’s representative, Miles Nevin, at 562-432-1224 for more information.
