9:00pm | The Gay and Lesbian Center of Greater Long Beach just celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a reunion party on the 27th which was only the first of many events that will celebrate the history of the Center and the LGBT community in Long Beach.
The Center has created a Memorabilia Room on the second floor of The Center. The exhibit includes past issues of The Center Post, the agency’s newsletter, as well as photos and artifacts from events, programs and services spanning 1980 – 2010. The Center was incorporated in 1980 as One in Long Beach Inc. To view the exhibit, which chronicles the history of the organization as well as a time line of the gay and lesbian movement in Long Beach, visit The Center at 2017 East Fourth Street, in Long Beach during regular operating hours of 9:00am–9:00pm M-F.
The exhibit will remain open through May and is free to the public.
