Temperatures will remain above normal Monday but will fall by around 25 degrees by Wednesday, when showers are expected.

The National Weather Service expects a high in Long Beach of 85 degrees today, with humidity levels hovering around 17%. By Tuesday, temperatures are expected to dip to a high of 71 degrees, with a chance of showers—possibly even a thunderstorm—in the afternoon.

There is a 60% chance of rain Tuesday night, and a 70% chance of rain on Wednesday, with highs in the low- to mid-60s predicted Wednesday through Friday.

The Southland definitely needs the wet weather: Since the beginning of the rain year on Oct. 1, Long Beach has received zero precipitation. In a normal year, the city should have received just over an inch.
